| Keepin the Beat is a dance competition company offering a series of dance competitions and workshops throughout the United States. We give dancers of all ages, from our “minis” (7 & 8 year olds) to adults, a competitive, yet friendly and educational atmosphere to showcase their talents and routines for our experienced panel of judges. Keepin’ the Beat has over 50 years, and 3 generations of dance competition and professional experience! From Carol Waine’s early days as a dancer and one of the first cheerleaders for the Detroit Pistons, to Mrs. Hacke’s years of dance training and competition, through to her daughters’ years in competitive dance, KTB Dance knows what is important to dancers.
Our judges, with nearly 70 years of combined experience, provide valuable feedback to help all of the dancers improve their talents. Every routine is video-taped and all dancers receive a copy, including real time comments and critiques from the judging panel. Keepin the Beat is THE dance competition you don’t want to miss!
Carol Waine, an international star dancer for her work in tap, ballet, jazz and Hawaiian dance, has danced extensively in the United States and Canada, as well as appeared on many TV shows including The Auntie D Show, Milky The Clown Show, and the Soupy Sales Show. Ms Waine started dancing at the age of 7 and by 14 was dancing at professional venues in Canada and from there went on to perform at State Fairs, Hawaiian luaus, USO shows and various yacht clubs and hotels like the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.
